Restoring Moulded Frames

Moulded Frame are the integral part of the paintings. Made with moulded plaster, it is susceptible to cracks and losses due to improper handling, dust dirt accumulation and ageing.

Treatment may include:

• Surface cleaning
• Removal/reduction of stains and discolouration
• Consolidation
• Repair of cracks, breaks, and replacing missing sections
• Filling and in-painting areas of loss.
• Gilding
• Provision of advice regarding care and display
• Provision of documentation (condition assessments and treatment reports)
